Do you enjoy live team trivia and helping to raise money for Austin artists?  If you said yes either count, then you should join us for the next Creative Fund trivia night on February 4th in the new Poeta in the East Austin Hotel (register in link) .  Our last trivia night fundraisers have been a blast.  We have five rounds of live trivia (I will be co-hosting) and a picture puzzle round.  If you don't do well at trivia, there are other amusing side games in which you can participate.  

Who knows?  Maybe I'll ask a question about the Grand Canyon.  Or, maybe not.  You'll have to show up to find out.

We're on for a Creative Fund Trivia Night fundraiser this Thursday at 7p (on Zoom).  Visit the Facebook event page for more information on how to buy tickets.  

The Creative Fund raises money to help Austin performing artists pay venue rental fees.

Save the date:  The Floyd Real Estate Trivia Series will return live and in-person on August 25th at Lavaca Street Bar (downtown).  Stay tuned for more information.  

Trivia: Creative Fund (now cancelled)

Another trivia fundraiser for The Creative Fund is in the works, and it will be on April 9th at Uncle Nicky's in the Hyde Park neigbborhood.  Stay tuned for the date and then new venue.  In the mean time, join me for the Fusebox Festival trivia fundraiser on April 1st.

The Creative fund helps performing artists afford venue rental fees in Austin.  I'm on the board, and I'm one of the co-founders.

3/15/20 Update: Trivia will not be held on April 9th because of coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.   Stay tuned and I will let you know when it is rescheduled.

Dave Floyd, Hosting Trivia

A lot has happened on the trivia front this year.  First of all, Creative Fund trivia night in January was quite the success.   In March, Sara and I started our "Floyd Real Estate Presents: Trivia" series of fundraisers.  The first one was in March (at the Tavern), with the Fusebox Festival as the beneficiary.

Here's the upcoming schedule:

• April 10: Trivia fundraiser for The Creative Fund.  This will be at The Scoot Inn.  Social hour starts at 6:30, with gameplay to begin at 7:30.
• April 24: Trivia fundraiser with the Texas Exes Young Alumni.  This one is raising money for scholarships and will be held at Little Woodrow's on Parmer.  You do not have to be a University of Texas alum to join in the fun.  
• May 15:  Second in the Floyd Real Estate sponsored series.  This one will be at the Tavern and benefitting Austin Habitat for Humanity.  

All of these trivia nights follow the same format: 5 rounds of live questions and one picture/puzzle round.  Teams of 4-6 are suggested... but, if you are solo or in a pair feel free to come on down as we'll help you find a group (and hey, that sounds like a fun way to meet new people).

Habitat Young Professionals April Happy Hour

Join the Austin Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) for their April Fundraising Happy Hour this Tuesday April 14th from 6-8:30 at The Mean Eyed Cat (1621 West 5th 78703).  Find out how you can get involved with HYP, support the work of Austin Habitat for Humanity, promote affordable housing, and participate in builds.  HYP Board Members and Habitat staff will be on hand to answer questions.  You can RSVP via Facebook.

Creative Fund "3" Third Anniversary Party

Join The Creative Fund tomorrow night as it celebrates it's third anniversary with the "3" signature event.  We'll also be celebrating the fact that we've sponsored over 50 shows in the past 3 years, and that we're about to give away another round of Q Rental Subsidy Awards.

Tickets for the Austin Young Lawyers Association Retro Vegas Party are now on sale.

The Creative Fund's Signature Event: "3"

3 is The Creative Fund’s third annual signature event to celebrate more than 50 funded performances and announce the latest recipients of the Q Subsidy Reward Program.

On May 31st from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, The Creative Fund will invade Wanderlust Yoga for an evening of food, drink, performances, and games.

Early Bird Event tickets are $50 per person or $90 for two. Members of the Creative Fund get in for FREE.

We had a great time with our team fundraising events, including trivia night at Dive Bar & Lounge and our Dancing-for-Dollars at Donn's Depot (the latter made possible by generous dance lessons from Go Dance Studios).

The Grand Finale Gala was very fun.  The team and guests filled my table, as well as tables purchased by De Leon & Washburn, PC, and United Health Care.

This is it.  Team Fight with Floyd has until 3p today to collect online donations for the 2014 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year fundraising campaign.  Through online fundraising, live events, and the amazing generosity of our supporters we're raised a truckload of money for blood cancer research.  That being said, we'd like to blow out our fundraising here in the home stretch.

Austin Events: Texas Advocacy Project's Share the Love Fundraising Cocktail

The Texas Advocacy Project is hosting it's Share the Love fundraising cocktail on Wednesday 2/6 at Molotov on West 6th in Austin.  General admission tickets are only $20 with VIP tickets for $150.  You can buy your tickets in advance.  Proceeds go to support the Project's mission to use legal solutions to end domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Texas.

Austin Events: Gatsby Fundraiser for The Creative Fund

Get your tickets now for The Creative Fund's Gatsby themed event at Austin's Caswell House on January 31st, 2013.  If you enjoyed last Spring's Through the Looking Glass event, then you will find even more to like at Gatsby.  There will be small theatre style performances throughout the evening, plus music by Ava Arenella.  Watch the video, and then imagine this music in a speakeasy setting.  Exactly.  We'll see you there.
